About Scottsdale Speech Therapy

Amy Gabel
Owner
M.S. CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist and Feeding Specialist
Originally from Scottsdale, AZ, I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona in Speech and Hearing Science. I then went on to pursue my master's degree at New York Medical College in Speech-Language Pathology. I received my clinical training in medical settings such as Boston Children's Health Physicians, Westchester Medical Center, and Greenwich Hospital- Yale New Haven Health. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including pediatric hospitals, public schools, private schools, home health, private practice, and outpatient clinics. I am ASHA certified and Arizona state licensed.
I specialize in pediatric feeding disorders from birth to adolescence. Previously, I was apart of a children's hospital Feeding Disorders Clinic where I served on a multidisciplinary team. I have also been trained and previously conducted Modified Barium Swallow Studies in Radiology to further my knowledge of complex swallowing disorders.

I have pursued specialized training from a variety of programs, including the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding program developed and copyrighted by Dr. Kay Toomey, Executive Function Skills by Sarah Ward, and Pediatric Swallowing and Feeding: The Essentials by Catherine Shaker. I have also enjoyed being a part of Feeding Matters Professional Mentorship Cohort Group, LACI.
My Philosophy
I am dedicated to delivering the highest quality and evidenced-based services. I take a personalized and family centered approach to empower your child to reach their full potential.
